A Trip Away – Out of Sync

A Trip Away – Out of Sync

  • A trip away from you – is to be alone.
    • Life out of sync.  Time out of sync.
  • In the morning – alone sipping coffee.
    • No spoons.  No cuddles.
    • Starts the day out of sync.
  • At the nooning – alone munching.
    • The day’s kind of empty.
    • Something is missing –  out of sync.
  • The evening arrives – alone still.
    • Successes or failures – no matter.
    • Sharing is stifled. Life is out of sync.
  • A trip away from you – is to be alone.
    • Life and love out of sync,
    • Until together again
  • Then all things are in sync.

  • While working with IBM for 42 years I was required to travel.  The above poem was written while traveling to a place unknown.   The list of places I traveled to is long.  My memory is much shorter.  Suffice it to say when I traveled I missed my dear wife.

  1. Life should be dodged in twain, and never in the singular.
