What Is Creation About?

  • What is creation about?
    • Why are we here?
    • Questions, Questions, more Questions.
  • The answer is:  The Children.
    • Yes, the children.
    • It is a seed, beginning of a flower.
    • It is the kitten, learning to walk and suckle.
  • Yes, the children.  It is the children.
    • I see them growing and wonder about tomorrow.
    • I see the pain from mistakes of leaving home
      • And remember mine.
    • I see the love and want to give them all I have.
  • Yes, all the children.
    • I see their pain and I want to hold them close,
    • But I know they must learn.
  • I see their choices and I feel pride
    • When they are doing their very best.
  • We are here to share in God’s creation,
    • And assist in the process of creating,
    • Tomorrow and tomorrow through the
      • Children of our time.
  • Whether the child is a kitten,
    • A new sprout breaking through
    • The earth for the first time or
    • Our child born in our likeness.
  • The answer is:  The children.
    • The beginnings of their tomorrows.
      • The endings to our tomorrows.
      • Beginnings of caring for their children.

  • I, like so many others,  have asked and pondered this question.  I came up with an interesting answer that surprised me once I had written it down in my journal.  Even now, after 14 years, I find truth in the words. They strike a chord of basic truth, one of the “Ahhh Haa’s” I have been searching for.

Winter is the Time

  • The winter is the time
    • To rest and replenish
    • My soul to prepare
    • For the intensity of springtime.
  • The winter is my time to be quiet
    • And listen to my soul.
      • To hear it’s quakening.
      • To be mindful of its fears.
    • To forgive foibles.
    • To welcome its hopes with open joy.
  • The winter is time to go outside
    • And find that patch of undisturbed snow.
    • Once finding it,
    • Lie down facing the clouds.
  • Spreading your arms
    • Like the wings of an eagle
    • Moving them back and forth.
  • Then it is time to stand up
    • And look down
    • At my angel.
  • Winter is the time
    • To take time to take time
    • To have a little fun
    • And enjoy moments.

  • A reflection on winter.  Some get cabin fever.  Some hate the cloudy days. Some hate the cold.  I found it is all about enjoying the moments of your life.  Winter for me is a time of slowing down, and replenishing energies.

Dear LORD on Bended Knee

  • Dear Lord.
    • On bended knee
  • I come to pay homage
    • To honor, to bless
    • All that you are,
  • All that you have created,
    • Even me.  I feel so small.
  • I feel so humbled
    • When  I take the time to see,
    • To listen, and to feel.
  • I come to ask forgiveness and
    • Give forgiveness to myself and others.
  • I come to acknowledge your
    • sovereignty over my existence.
  • I come to lift up my life,
    • My family to your protection
    • And guidance.
  • I come confident in faith
    • To bend my knees and
    • Lower my head in adoration
    • And gratitude.
