Life!!!

  •  Life is simple,
    • Breathe in, breathe out.
  • Life is complex.
    • Share your life with another.
  • Life may be simple.
    • Being alone, just existing.
    • Yet, it is definitely boring.
  • Life may be complex.
    • Sharing brings joy and pain.
    • Each moment there is something new.
  • Life can be simple.
    • Loneliness turns inward toward despair.
    • A vicious cycle begins.
  • Life can be complex.
    • Sharing moves us  out of ourselves.
    • A renewing cycle begins.

  • This was written while in Tokyo, Japan at the Okura hotel on business.   It was an interesting business trip that included visits to museums, theatres, and one evening at a night club listening to fantastic Beatles imitators.   Yet, away from family these words came to the surface and had to be written down.

Humor

  • I enjoy humor.
    • I enjoy a good laugh.
  • Chuckle, Chuckle.
    • Even if it is a little risqué.
  • Tee-Hee, tee-hee,
    • A quiet little giggle.
  • Ha-haa, ha-haa,
    • A big belly laugh.
  • All of them.
    • One at a time or together.
  • I love to feel happy.
    • To be made or to make.

  • A little humor is good for the soul.   I forgot who said that, but it is true.   A good laugh relieves  tension.  I have been told laughter even prolongs life.

Intruders

  • They intrude,
    • Sometimes pushing urgently,
    • Sometimes insidiously,
    • Other times gently calling, beckoning.
    • Yes, they take over.
  • Thoughts of you.
    • Are you mad at me?
    • What are you thinking?
    • What are you doing?
    • Yes, they take over.
  • Thoughts of you.
    • When you are near or far.
    • At work or at home,
    • Even at play.
    • Yes, they take over.
  • Thoughts of you.
    • Lovingly or angrily.
    • Thoughtful or in jest.
    • Even playfully.
    • Yes, they take over.
  • They intrude!

  • I wrote this poem when on a business trip.  It was noticeable how thoughts of my wife came to my mind.  They definitely intruded when I was in meetings, after the meetings, in the evening or as I was waking up in the morning.
